Dubrovnik Viewpoints: Ombla, the Bridge and Srđ
A short trip for people who want to see the whole city at once. We start at the Ombla, where a river comes out of the rock, stop at the big bridge over the harbour and finish on Srđ, the hill right behind the Old Town.
It takes about two hours and needs no walking to speak of, so it suits families and older travellers too.

Dubrovnik from Srđ
Ombla
The plan
Ombla spring
The river rises at the foot of the karst and reaches the sea a few kilometres later. Even in August the water is cold and clear.
Franjo Tuđman Bridge
A stop for the view down over Gruž harbour and out to the islands.
Bosanka and Srđ
The road climbs through Bosanka to the top of Srđ. From up there the Old Town, the walls and Lokrum lie below you. The fort on the summit holds a small museum about the 1991 siege.
Good to know
Late afternoon gives the best light on Srđ. Outside summer, bring a jacket: it is often windy at the top.
