Trsteno, Slano and Ston
North of Dubrovnik the coast is quieter. This trip strings together three stops along it: a centuries-old garden, a sheltered bay and the walled town of Ston.
It is an easy day, with a fair amount of walking at your own pace.

Trsteno Arboretum
Ston
The plan
Trsteno Arboretum
A Renaissance estate garden above the sea, with old plane trees, a fountain and shaded paths.
Slano
A deep, calm bay with a small harbour, good for a coffee or a swim in summer.
Ston
The walls, the salt pans and lunch, either in Ston or a few minutes away in Mali Ston.
Good to know
The arboretum and the Ston walls both charge entry, paid on the spot. Wear proper shoes for the walls.
